About Randolph

Welcome to Randolph Elementary, a neighborhood school and the home of our Randolph Stars!  Randolph opened its doors in 1947 and is named after Peyton Randolph, an important figure in Virginia history.  Students attending Randolph represent 41 different countries and 20 different languages.  The breadth of cultures and languages truly makes our school a United Nations of learning communities.

Randolph was fully authorized as a Primary Years Program of the International Baccalaureate on March 10, 2005.  Randolph joined the elite ranks of the fewer than 300 elementary school worldwide, including elementary schools in the United States that have Primary Years Programs.  Randolph’s programs include instruction in a foreign language (Spanish), community service activities, and student developed portfolios.

Randolph Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Association, the Douglas Park Civic Association, the School Plan Advisory Committee, and the Moms and Dad’s Club all share the same interest in our learning community’s success.  From supporting the annual Book Fair, Walk to End Homelessness to Fall and Spring Yard Clean Up, Young Authors and Illustrators, Content Academy Nights, the parents involved in these events contribute their time, talents, and caring hearts to facilitate the school’s success.

Randolph also continues to enjoy vibrant partnerships with several local organizations. For our Randolph community, education is truly our passport to the future!  Come join our Randolph family and see how we develop balanced learners and global citizens!
