Hello! ¡Hola!

As a professional who believes in the infinite power of being a global citizen in the 21st century, it is my mission to inspire every student to embark on a life-long journey of learning. As the principal of Randolph Elementary School, I am honored to lead an institution where diversity and culture are celebrated and valued in a caring and welcoming environment where social-emotional learning is supported through the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.

I started my career in education after I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador – Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas, Venezuela, with a B.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. A few years later, I earned my M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at Greensboro College, NC. I also attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, to further my postgraduate studies in Educational Leadership.  I taught a wide range of grade levels (K-16) for 18 years before becoming a school administrator in Arlington Public Schools, where I have had the opportunity to lead staff and contribute to their excellence with my instructional expertise.

I am looking forward to having a successful school year alongside teachers and students at Randolph!

Welcome to Randolph Elementary, and IB World School, where we develop balanced learners and global citizens!

Greetings, Randolph Families!

As an educator, I believe in supporting all students to success through rigorous, targeted, and engaging instruction that supports the academic and social emotional needs of each child.  I am committed to providing a safe and welcoming space for students in which inquiry, critical thinking, student voice, and reflection are key.

I am a proud graduate of Meredith College, where I studied English and education, Howard University, where I earned an M.A. in English literature, and George Mason University where I earned an M.Ed. in Education Leadership with a focus on supervision and administration.  During my time with Arlington Public Schools, I have served in various roles such as English teacher at Washington-Liberty High School, English Language Arts Secondary Specialist, Interim ELA Supervisor, Assistant Administrator for summer school, and ELA Content Lead Teacher at Arlington Community High School. Before joining APS in 2005, I taught middle school in Raleigh, North Carolina. I am looking forward to an amazing year serving the students and families of Randolph Elementary School.

Let’s go, Randolph Stars!
