Lesly Fuentes is the IB Spanish teacher at Randolph. She started at Randolph in 2018. Before Randolph she was a Library Media Assistant and a Special Education Administrative Assistant at Claremont Immersion.  Lesly Fuentes also worked as a Bilingual Family Resource Liaison at Carlin Springs Elementary.  She attended George Mason University where she studied Early Childhood and Special Education. In her free time she likes to cook and to travel. When she is not doing that, she enjoys reading a book and watching movies. At Randolph Elementary, students have an opportunity to learn more than one language.  We do this by developing functional skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish.  We use a variety of learning activities including conversational practice,  songs, games, read-alouds, and group and independent projects to support students in their language development in all four language domains. Using an interdisciplinary approach, students acquire the skills to express themselves on many topics, such as greetings, self-introductions, seasons, weather, colors, clothing, animals, communities, and many other topics. Please, visit Learning Languages in the PYP to learn more about it!
