Annual Battle of the Books

On Thursday, November 3, 2016, six teams of 4th and 5th grade students came together in the Randolph Elementary School cafeteria to “battle” it out over summer reading books in our 3rd annual Battle of the Books competition.  Students received five books to read over the summer, then joined teams in October and practiced with a coach for three weeks before the competition.  Forty-two students competed in front of classmates, family, and staff in an audience that filled the cafeteria!  Fifth grade teams competed against each other for Round One, fourth grade teams were matched during Round Two, and the winner of each of these rounds competed against each other in the final round.  The competition’s winning team was Magma Masters, a 5th grade team coached by Ms. Caitlin Cummins.  Congratulations to our 4th and 5th grade students who participated in Battle of the Books!Fourth Grade Books: Sacajawea, Weird Sea Creatures, October Ogre Fifth Grade Books: Anne Frank, Volcanoes, Disaster Strikes Volcano Blast Joint Books: The Lemonade Crime, Aliens Ate My Homework
