STAR Readers For 2025-2026

STAR Readers For 2025-2026: The STAR Reader is returning as part of our IB Curriculum this school year. These books, selected by our teachers, represent the IB Learner Profile words (there is 1 book that aligns to the month’s learner profile per month). All students, Pre-K through grade 5, will read the same title each month. It is important that all students experience the reading of this book and then have access to the book as part of the classroom library for the remainder of the year. Each book comes with an optional lesson plan and activity (usually based on a Project Zero Thinking Routine) and slides show to support instruction. When necessary, the lesson plan has differentiated activities for PK-2 and 3-5. Books are placed in teacher mailboxes or delivered to classrooms usually at the beginning of each month.

For August, there is no learner profile so we chose a book that supports the IB Unit Who We Are. This year we will be reading A Face is a Poem.
